Phoenix Oolong (Fenghuang Dancong)

Phoenix Oolong (Fenghuang Dancong) is one of many traditional Chinese teas. This dark oolong is made in the mountains of Guangdong Province, roughly halfway between Guangzhou and Xiamen. Also called Phoenix Oolong, Phoenix Dan Cong, or Feng Huang Oolong, it is grown on Phoenix Mountain, named for its multiple peaks that look like the mythological bird. Dancong teas are rarely available outside China. Fenghuang Dancong is harvested from wild tea bushes growing at high elevations around the mountain and has floral notes with a hint of honey.
