1st Flush Darjeeling

This First Flush FTGFOP (Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) comes from the renowned Darjeeling region of northern India, near the borders of Nepal, China, and Bhutan. Harvested and handcrafted in mid-March before the heavier seasonal rains, this traditional First Flush captures the freshness and vibrancy of early spring growth.

The cup offers a delightful floral and grassy aroma with subtle astringency and layered complexity. Like many Darjeelings, it undergoes partial oxidation — technically closer to an oolong — yet the distinct regional processing creates a beautifully bright, nuanced liquor unlike most other teas.

Sourced from the esteemed Gopaldhara Estate, producing exceptional teas since 1955, these colonial-era tea plants grow at elevations between 5,500 and 7,000 feet along the Nepal border. Produced in small quantities by hand from a single season and estate, this is truly a connoisseur’s tea.
