This is a complex oolong with flavors of cream, caramel, and flowers.
The people of the Dabang tribe produce this Alishan High Mountain Oolong, part of the Tsou People of Taiwan. This is a truly unique tea sharing some of the best qualities of Oriental Beauty and Alishan Oolongs. Like Oriental Beauty, the leaves used for this tea are chewed by leafhoppers, imparting a slightly sweeter, unique flavor. Unlike Oriental Beauty, however, which is an open-twist oolong, this Alishan oolong is tightly rolled. It features an almost toasted honey aroma with a sweet and lingering taste. Pluck style is a bud with 2-4 leaves. It is lightly oxidized, but a medium to heavy roasting is applied to the finished product. Plantation is managed in accordance with EU Regulation (EC 834/2007) for pesticide- and fertilizer-free production at elevations ranging from 3,200 ft to 5,000 ft above sea level.
